Description

York residents have been on the front lines of our nation’s defense since the earliest days of the American Revolution. Here—in one of the country’s oldest communities—a strong bond of patriotism, bravery, and dedication to freedom from tyranny, stretches across the generations.

In a two-block area surrounding York’s Town Common there are memorials honoring those who served in our nation’s conflicts, from the American Revolution to the Vietnam War. On this tour, you will learn the history of these remarkable memorials, as well as the individuals they commemorate. This tour will appeal particularly to veterans and families, but also anyone with an interest in American history.
