Description
The name “Josiah Wedgwood” evokes images of fine tableware and neo-classical artifacts, and brings to mind England’s most famous potter. But there is far more to the Wedgwood story. Historian and Wedgwood collector, Adele Barnett, talks about the connections between Wedgwood and America—with a focus on New England—from the 18th century to the present. She discusses not only how Wedgwood marked his place in history, but reveals his political and personal sympathies during the period of America’s revolution. She precedes this with a brief overview of the wide range of wares that have been produced during the company’s 260 years, illustrating what has made the Wedgwood pottery so distinguished.
